Description:

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, AFP promotes actions connected with art, culture, education. AFP founds scholarships and awards for the talented young film-makers, organises film festivals for young people and children and promote the cinema. The AFP supports democratic and local government institutions, in particular those focusing on European integration and aid for children and young people.

From 1996, twice a year, AFP promotes the Multimedia International Film Festival (MIFF), under the auspices of the Committee of Cinematography and Unicef. In the winter edition of the MIFF, a Children's Jury chooses the best film of the competition. The summer edition of MIFF takes place simultaneously in Warsaw and in Łeba, where young people (aged 12-15) from all over the world are invited to take part in the works of the international Jury of Young Ambassadors. They award the best film in the competition with the prestigious prize - the Grand Prix of Golden Elephant.

From 1997 in co-operation with the State Art Gallery Zachęta and with the National Museum in Warsaw, AFP organises a workshops for young people, where they have the chance to watch the most interesting films from the field of arts, culture and music. The screenings are followed by meetings, where the young people discuss and express their opinions together with personalities of the world of film and theatre. AFP organises the premiere screenings of the films that have to be distributed into the Polish screens as well as their billboard campaigns.  www.academy.pl


Role:

As Partner/National Coordinator (P/NC) will take part to the main activities and it will coordinate schools in Poland (activities 2.1-2.4). AFP will specifically be responsible for the Local Information Campaign by editing short stories derived from the EEL activities, written and produced for print, radio, television and online (activity 3.4).
